Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining
A professional organisation for those interested in: materials science and engineering, minerals, and mining technology

British Computer Society
The industry body for IT professionals. Includes issues relating to computer hardware, software and internet related issues.

Royal Microscopical Society
This society promotes both theory and practical application of microscopy and scientific imaging. Includes all types of scientific imaging techniques from SEM and microprobe to traditional microscopy.

The Royal Institution
Allows memberships from all who are interested in science (including non-scientists) runs many lectures and events across all scientific disciplines.

British Association for the Advancement of Science
This has an open membership to all who are interested, and it helps to promote and make science accessible to everyone

Association for Women in Science and Engineering
This is a UK association for women in science covering all sciences and technologies from mathematics and engineering to biomedicine, anthropology, environmental and social science, including education, research, industry, administration, and the media.

Association of British Science Writers
The association's members include those that are active in the field of communicating science and technology including: print and broadcast journalists, authors, scriptwriters and producers, and others.
